Internet Explorer Compatibility View Message in Gmail

Problem or Question:

I just received this message after signing into my email: " It looks like you have enabled Internet Explorer Compatibility View. CSU East Bay Mail works best if you turn this off." Do I turn this off or can I just Dismiss this message?

Environment:

Web, Internet Explorer, GoogleApps

Solution or Answer:

You will receive this message if you have the Compatibility View settings for Internet Explorer turned on globally. Though you may not experience problems viewing your email, you will have "view only" access in Google Calendar. Turn off your global Compatibility View settings:

Step 1. Sign out of GoogleApps and close all Internet Explorer Browser windows.

Step 2. Select the Tools menu.

          If you do not see your Menu bar, hit the Alt key to make it appear temporarily.

Step 3. Select Compatibility View settings.

Step 4. Uncheck "Display all websites in Compatibility View"

Step 5. Click Close.

If you still experience viewing GoogleApps, clear browser cache by following these Clear Browser Cache KB instructions:

Cause:

The global setting for Compatibility Settings is turned on. This may have been turned on globally due to CFS Finance Report viewing issues.
